Sofitel New York was entering a new chapter — a refined repositioning in one of the world’s most competitive hospitality markets. The relaunch needed to do more than celebrate a renovation; it had to signal a renewed cultural relevance.
The brief: create a single-night experience that honored Sofitel’s French heritage while firmly anchoring it in contemporary New York. The event needed to speak simultaneously to ownership, global leadership, media, tastemakers and VIP guests — delivering elegance without excess, theatricality without spectacle, and a guest journey that felt intentional from first arrival to final toast.

○ SOLUTION
New Moon designed a layered, multi-act evening that unfolded as a living expression of the Sofitel brand.
Guests entered through a refined lobby arrival moment anchored by a bold step-and-repeat installation — a first touchpoint designed as both media statement and brand frame. From there, the experience progressed deliberately: an early VIP welcome in Social 45, champagne rituals on the staircase in partnership with Pommery, and a dramatic reveal of the Paris Ballroom.
The Ballroom became the emotional centerpiece. An 18-foot stage framed by a 12-foot LED wall hosted formal remarks from global leadership, followed by live musical performances blending French classics, Broadway and contemporary sounds. The space balanced black gloss bars, sculptural florals, and carefully styled lounge vignettes — reinforcing Sofitel’s art deco lineage with modern restraint.
Act II shifted tone entirely. The Manhattan Rooms transformed into a moody speakeasy — draped ceilings, a martini bar, piano-led jazz and intimate caviar service — offering guests discovery beyond the main stage. Simultaneously, the Champagne Room portrait studio delivered an elevated content moment, complete with instant digital delivery and branded overlays to ensure Sofitel’s presence traveled far beyond the room.
Every touchpoint — from coat check ticketing to brand ambassadors to lighting and audio plots — was designed to maintain flow, uphold hospitality, and protect the integrity of the brand experience.

The Sofitel relaunch was not simply an event — it was a fully choreographed brand immersion.
The evening successfully reintroduced Sofitel New York to the market with clarity and confidence, reinforcing its Parisian elegance while demonstrating contemporary cultural fluency. Leadership messaging landed within a heightened emotional environment; media moments were captured against controlled, visually cohesive backdrops; and guests moved through a seamless journey that encouraged exploration, dwell time and organic amplification.
The transformation of the property into a multi-sensory narrative — from grand ballroom to intimate speakeasy to champagne portrait studio — provided both scale and intimacy, ensuring every stakeholder experienced the hotel in a way that felt personal.
